Edmundo Eustaquio Confesor, better known as “SOL,” began his football career at the Frater Fidelius school. In 1941, he became part of the Antilles Selection that participated in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Costa Rica.
Sol served as the Technical Director of the Antilles football team, which won the Gold Medal in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Jamaica. In 1962, Confesor received an offer to become the football coach of Cuba and Puerto Rico. He chose Puerto Rico, presenting a more acceptable offer.
Over the next 10 years, Confesor contributed to the development of Bonaire’s football, reaching a high level and achieving a draw against the Curaçao Selection in an elimination tournament. In 1978, Sol led the Youth Selection in the Kingdom Games, winning the Gold Medal.
In 1989, he directed the Antillean football team in the Pre-World Cup. Sol also worked as a sports commentator on Z-86 and Radio Caribe from 1976 to 1985.
