Harold has been working for 38 years as a civil servant at the Landsontvanger.
He began practicing the sport of weightlifting at the age of 17, but he also practiced judo, karate, and shooting. As a judoka, Harold participated in various national and international competitions during the 70s and achieved the brown belt. He also took part in various karate competitions in Curaçao and Aruba, reaching the black belt.
Since 1987, Harold has been involved in the sport of shooting, participating in national and international competitions.
Harold started amateur boxing as a referee/judge from 1983 to 1987, acting as a judge in Venezuela in 1987 and in Costa Rica in 1988. From 1988, Harold served as a professional referee and judge.
Harold has been participating in the World Boxing Council Convention from 1988 to 2015, a total of 27 times. In 1992, he acted as a professional judge in the World Lightweight title match in Mexico between Derrel Tyson and M.A. Gonzales.
